You can check the status of a mobile device:

1. On the website of the operator of the IMEI system: www.imei.tj;
2. Via USSD request *3366#.

The IMEI status is information about the status of your device's IMEI code. There are 4 status options.

1) The IMEI code of the device is included in the State System for Identification of Mobile Telecommunications (white list).
2) The IMEI code of the device is not included in the State System for Identification of Mobile Telecommunications (black list).
3) Gray list - the device has not passed customs clearance. Within 30 calendar days, the device must be cleared through customs, otherwise the provision of mobile communication services will be terminated.
4) Associated whitelist - IMEI code of your device is unknown or cloned.

Stateless persons can enter the IMEI code / codes of a mobile device into the State System using a document issued in accordance with the procedure established by law.

The IMEI code is entered into the national database once, regardless of the change of the SIM card.

Mobile devices imported into the territory of the republic for sale must be entered into the State System by legal entities or importers in the prescribed manner.

Consumers - individuals, before purchasing a mobile device in the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan, need to check the status of the IMEI code / codes of the device. You can do this in the following ways:

In the case when a mobile device has two or more IMEI codes, it means that the device can be serviced by two or more mobile operators simultaneously using two or more SIM cards.

In order to unblock the IMEI code/codes of the mobile device, it is necessary to enter the IMEI code of the mobile device into the State System. After the successful entry of the IMEI code / codes, you must restart the mobile device.

After activating the SIM slot of a mobile device, it is necessary to enter the IMEI code of the mobile device into the national database within 30 calendar days.

Payment for entering the IMEI codes of mobile devices into the State System can be made through the applications of payment systems, as well as in banks in the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan.

In case of loss or theft of devices, the victim must apply to the internal affairs authorities with a statement in which it is necessary to indicate the manufacturer, model and IMEI code / codes of the mobile device.

Legal entities can enter the IMEI code/codes of a mobile device into the national database in the following ways:

- On the website of the system operator: www.imei.tj;
- Via USSD request *3366#;

The system operator or system registrar is obliged to consider the application:
- legal entities/importers within 3 working days
- for individuals - 3 working hours

Mobile devices imported by individuals through international postal or courier shipments will be entered into the State System only in person at the System Operator or System Registrar, provided that an envelope with a barcode of a postal identifier and a calendar stamp is presented.

In cases where an individual has exceeded the duty-free import of a mobile device into the territory of the republic (more than one), then the IMEI code of the mobile device is entered into the State System after payment of the relevant customs and tax payments. According to the legislation of Tajikistan, the cost of customs clearance is 15% VAT on the total amount of the device.

For reference:

In accordance with a government decree, each citizen on a preferential basis with full exemption from customs duties and taxes can import into the country goods worth no more than $2,000 for personal use. This provision also applies to mobile devices. If the value of imported mobile devices or tablets exceeds $2,000, but not more than $5,000, then in terms of such excess, a simplified customs clearance procedure is applied using uniform rates of customs duties and taxes in the amount of 20 percent of the customs value of goods.

The only condition is that citizens who bring mobile devices with them for personal use must fill out the appropriate declaration of the T-6 form at customs checkpoints. This will allow you to enter the IMEI code of the mobile device into the national database for free.

Customs clearance of duty-free import is carried out in the following ways:

1) At the customs checkpoint, an individual must fill out a declaration form T-6 on paper and be sure to indicate the IMEI code of the device in the column of product characteristics;
2) At the customs checkpoint, an individual fills out the T-6 form online using Wi-Fi, which is included specifically for this procedure;
3) By scanning the QR code installed at the customs checkpoints;
4) Through the portal www.imei.tj.

In all cases, the following fields must be filled in: Full name, ITN, series and number of the passport, phone number, IMEI code of the mobile device (you must specify all IMEI codes that are in the mobile device), upload a photo of the first page of the passport, photo of the passport page, which confirms the fact of crossing the state border of Tajikistan or a photo of the boarding pass.
